This is what we thought when reading the two leading articles on the website “Exapsalmos” by Mr. Sotirios Tzoumas, a close associate of the late Archbishop Christodoulos.
A common feature of both the article “German network RND. The pandemic divides the Church of Greece” and the other “Mount Athos is boiling with coronavirus” is the unseemly attack on the person of Elder Efthymios.
Both, with a pseudo-journalistic approach and full of inaccuracies, turn outspokenly and in a hostile manner against a humble Hieromonk, whom we all know avoids any publicity and indeed spends large periods of the year enclosed and completely isolated, even though crowds of faithful come to receive his blessing.
Surely, an Elder of the stature of Elder Efthymios does not need a defense from our lowliness, who for decades now, both through his way of life and his rich written work, but mainly through his spiritual rest and the spiritual guidance of thousands of souls, gives meaning to Orthopraxy, which is so missing from our Orthodoxy.
Unfortunately, history repeats itself. Just as our Lord was slandered by the priesthood of His time, just as Saint Nektarios was slandered by the Hierarchy of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, so too is Elder Efthymios now unjustly slandered by Hierarchs of the Church of Greece and unworthy politicians, who employ fascist practices and enlist “conscripted” pens to mudsling against the Elder of Kapsala, simply because he dared to speak a word against the systemic propaganda in favor of vaccination.
They unjustly attribute to him that he “got many people killed,” meaning those allegedly dead due to coronavirus, at a time when the state mechanism itself confessed that hundreds are counted among these dead who at some point were recorded as cases and did not even fall ill, but died from any other cause even months later.
They attribute to him that he prevents the faithful from getting vaccinated so that a “wall of immunity” can be built, at a time when their narrative is refuted by the very scientific community they invoke for two years now, and which, after the resounding failure of the measures taken, comes to admit that the vaccinated transmit the virus as much as the unvaccinated, and naturally fall ill just as much as they do.
They keep silent about the hundreds or thousands of side effects of the vaccines trying to downgrade them as expected. They remain silent about the hecatomb of dead vaccinated due to myocardial conditions while systematically avoiding to record – as they ought to – in the EOF “yellow card” the thousands of side effects reported by unfortunate vaccinated people.
They try to impose “compulsory” vaccination with preparations that by their own confession are still in an experimental stage, at a time when Nobel laureates and esteemed scientists present documented arguments against vaccination with these specific experimental preparations.
Fully aligning with all these, Mr. Tzoumas launches a vulgar attack on Elder Efthymios, trying with unsubstantiated evidence regarding a supposed dramatic increase of cases on Mount Athos, to slander the Elder as the supposed instigator and coordinator of the anti-vaccination sentiment of the overwhelming majority of Athonites, who contrary to the pressures of those in power, have not been vaccinated.
Obviously, the silver-bought propagandists of the media, seeing their narrative about the pandemic and about the transmission by the vaccinated collapsing, are trying to vent somewhere.
We, passing over their demonic rage against Elder Efthymios, will stick to a prophetic saying of his last summer, which unfortunately was silenced.
Predicting the division that the known para-centers of power artificially attempt for the division of the Greek People into supporters of vaccination and anti-vaxxers, he reminded us that every time our People were divided (see Venizelists and Royalists, National-minded and Leftists) National Tragedies always followed (see Asia Minor Catastrophe, Civil War, Division of Cyprus).
It is in our hands not to allow them to succeed with our sensible, calm, and steady resistance to their unholy plans.
